Resist the devil

Resist the devil

As Children of God, servants of God, believers in Jesus Christ, we constantly face a common enemy which is our adversary, the devil, against whom God invites us to be alert:
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”(1 Pet.5:8).
We have as a task not to give open doors to the devil, not to give him room.

“Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.”(Eph.4:26-27). “Resist him (the devil), steadfast in the faith,… (1 Pet.5:9).
That is why God commands us in Ephesians to:

“Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”(Eph.6:11).
The Holy Spirit goes on to say: “Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”(Eph.6:16).

Consequently, we are commanded to resist the devil, the thief, the destroyer of our life, the enemy of our soul, by standing strongly in faith, believing all the promises of God in the Bible, the absolute Word of God, like Jesus who, in His time of temptation, counter-attacked the devil more than once: “It is written…, It is written “(Matt.4:4-10), (Luke 4:4).

“Therefore, submit yourself to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you”. (Ja.4:7).
